The idea for this installation
is rooted back in time,
when music was starting to become a powerful factor of inspiration
for my paintings and prints,
and later as life performance, too, of many musicians, quite often
with Dimitar Traichev as co-author.

My Dozen Miles is my personal selection of 12 albums of Miles Davies from our family jazz collection and this project is dedicated to the author.

Each CD set contains a transparent Plexiglas case bought from commercial outlets and a disk of authentic performances recorded specially for this occasion.

Instead of the original covers I bind together the 12 albums with a portrait of mine and in this way I declare my partiality to the music of Miles.

A crowd of ten thousand came to watch the last total solar eclipse of the 20th century. Educated in the academic traditions of the preceding 19th century, I was stunned by the actual lack of cast shadows, by the incredible diffused light, practically there were only reflections, and by the brightness of pure colour.

For this occasion I designed and printed 10 dated tee-shirts for personal use and to give as gifts to my friends. Of this release only 5 survived.
